After a long trip, I simply wash it once and occasionally give it a quick iron. As you mentioned, the lack of formaldehyde treatment results in a few wrinkles, which I actually appreciate. The straps are too tight for my head. Adjustable ones might be better to fit all.
It's a good mask and feels just as buttery soft as the sheets. The double straps help keep the mask in place all night. My only complaint is that the crinkles and thickness of the straps dig into my ears when I side sleep and cause some discomfort
